A Weekend in Orange County

What to do with 3 Days in the OC? Top Ways to Make Your Orange County Weekend Memorable

The Day in Huntington Beach

Start your trip in Huntington Beach. Make it a combined day of shopping the surf stores downtown and enjoying the waves on the city beach. This is a great place for your jumping off point to the OC beach towns. If you have a couple hours, try renting a bike and do a tour up to Seal Beach. With its cute main street, you can enjoy some time shopping and grabbing a bit.

Head to Newport Beach and Balboa Peninsula

On day two, make it memorable with a day in Newport Beach. Start the morning with some coffee and pastries in Corona del Mar, then head over to Balboa Island. If you have kids in tow, don’t miss the fun zone. Or just enjoy the ocean and beach with a day of sunbathing, swimming, and body surfing. Plenty of place to grab dinner on the island.

Close the Weekend in South Orange County: Dana Point and Laguna Beach

It’s your final day and I recommend starting the morning at Dana Point Harbor. You can grab coffee and a light breakfast or go full board with a champagne brunch. Sit back and enjoy the marina, watch the sailboats and paddle-boarders go in and out of the channel and the power walkers and strollers enjoy the many walking paths. After a nice morning at the harbor, don’t forget to stop by one of the many scenic overlooks in Dana Point. This will give you the best photo opportunities of the weekend.

For the rest of your day head up to Laguna Beach. The downtown has plenty of shopping and places for lunch. You can enjoy another couple hours on the beach at Main Beach or Thalia Beach. For the night’s entertainment, grab an early dinner then catch the Pageant of the Masters. Runs every night in the summer and an experience you don’t want to miss.
