Balboa Peninsula Beaches
Balboa Peninsula is host to a very long stretch of sandy beachiness containing the Newport and Balboa Beaches. Acting as a jetty for the Newport Harbor and providing protection for the islands in the bay, the entire ocean facing edge is a long stretch of beach. Starting at the rock pile that serves as the channel entrance is famous surfing spot, The Wedge. Then the long Balboa Beach with Balboa Pier eventually turns into Newport Municipal Beach with the Newport Pier.
When you tire of the beach, there are also plenty of attractions for the whole family: the Fun Zone, Whale Watching tours, ferry to Catalina Island and Balboa Island, and lots of shopping and dining.
